SPRAY FOAM HOME INSULATION

Being a binary liquid that is mixed at the spray nozzle it is applied and expands directly in place. It is the preferred insulation method for the phoenix area as it doesn’t just insulate, but also creates a seal that keeps your air conditioned air in your home, and all the heat outside where it belongs. It can be applied to new build and older homes all the same. Ranging from enclosed existing walls to new open wall cavities and even unfinished attic floors.

RIGID FOAM BOARD INSULATION

Built from either Polyurethane, Polyisocyanurate, or Polystyrene this type of foam board is used for foundation walls as well, but can also be used in ceilings or floors. It’s especially useful in unvented low-slope roofs. Typically to meet code this type of insulation must be covered by 1/2 inch sheetrock to comply with fire safety codes. It can be used for exterior home insulation but must be covered with a weatherproof facing.

BLANKETS, BATTS AND ROLL INSULATION

This option of home insulation is produced using either fiberglass, mineral wool, plastic fibers or natural fibers. Batts and rolls can be used in unfinished walls, ceilings, and even floors. They are installed by setting the material between the studs, joists, or beams. This insulation is produced with common stud widths and is relatively inexpensive.

LOOSE-FILL HOME INSULATION

Consisting of small particles loose-fill insulation is made up of either fiberglass fibers, mineral wool, or cellulose. These materials are produced from recycled materials. Mineral wool is made from industrial recycled materials. Cellulose loose fill home insulation is produced from recycled newsprint and fiberglass contains material from recycled glass.

CONCRETE BLOCK INSULATION

Foam board insulation is the preferred concrete foundation insulation. It’s placed on the exterior of the foundation to help shield the foundation of the home from the extremes of heat and cold. This type of insulation is installed typically during the new build of a home but can be installed during major renovations.

RADIANT BARRIER HOME INSULATION

In contrast to most conventional insulation systems the radiant and reflective home insulation systems don’t try to stop conductive and convective heat flow, they reflect the heat using a variety of highly reflective aluminum foils. In addition to these foils they can also have a variety of backings which can increase their efficiency.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION

Spray foam insulation combined with a foaming agent can be applied using small spray containers or in larger quantities as a pressure-sprayed product. Both types expand and harden as the mixture cures. They also conform to the shape of the cavity, filling and sealing it thoroughly.

BLOWN-IN INSULATION

Loose-fill fiber glass insulation utilizes a professional blowing machine for installation in open spaces to fill hard-to-reach areas like corners, edges and around framing. As a premium alternative to cellulose, it does not settle or decay, and can effectively provide insulation for the life of the home.

ROLLED BATT INSULATION

This is the most common and widely available type of insulation which comes in the form of batts or rolls. It consists of flexible fibers, most commonly fiberglass. You also can find batts and rolls made from mineral (rock and slag) wool, plastic fibers, and natural fibers, such as cotton and sheep’s wool.
